IMPORTANT DATES: January 15 -50% of all hockey fees are due January 17 – Como Hockey Day January 20 – CAHA Board Meeting February 15 -Full payment of hockey fees are due ATTENTION ALL COMO AREA HOCKEY FAMILIES Full payment for your child's/children's hockey fees are due by February 15th with at least 50% of all fees paid by January 15th. If the fees are not paid by these dates, your child/children will not be able to participate in practice or games and will be pulled from the ice. We do not want to have to pull kids from participating in youth hockey but as an association, we are all responsible for the financial obligations of Como Area Youth Hockey and we can not let these obligations slide. A parent team meeting will be called for all Como Area Hockey Teams within the next week and the dates and ramification to the teams will be outlined in that meeting if payments are not received.
We need everyone to understand the importance of meeting the financial obligations to keep Como Area Youth Hockey viable and healthy into the future. Remember payments can be made online with a credit card at www.comohockey.com. If payment cannot be made by the dates outlined above, please contact a board member to propose a payment schedule and it will be taken under advisement. This is not the tone we like to use or the actions we enjoy undertaking, but, we have a very large percentage of outstanding payments and that hurts the future of Como Area Youth Hockey.

Congratulations to the 10U Girls Team for selling the most calendars! They earned $2,000 for the fundraiser. Great job!! You have earned a pizza party. We’ll be in contact to work out the details.
Thanks to all of the volunteers who helped coordinate the Calendar Fundraiser: The Committee Members – Julie Betti, Megan Skweres, Kathy Weyandt, David Hodgson, Bob Skweres and Tom Betti. Also, thank you to all team managers for your help in tracking and collecting raffle tickets from your teams – it was a tremendous help. We appreciate all the feedback that was offered during this fundraiser and hope to use many of your ideas for next year! And, of course, thanks to everyone for your efforts in selling the calendars/raffle tickets – Como Hockey greatly appreciates it!! COMO HOCKEY DAY In conjunction with Hockey Day Minnesota, CAHA, with the lead of PeeWee Coach Erik Jorgensen, is hosting Como Hockey Day on Saturday, January 17th at North Dale Recreation Center.
Events begin at 10am and go through the last feature, scheduled to end at 6pm. Concessions will be available all day.
Many volunteers are needed in the areas of concessions, fire pit management, locker room attendants, trash detail, and more. Sign up sheets are posted at Biff Arena – look for the big yellow posters in the warming area on the east wall. This is a great opportunity to finish off (or even start) your volunteer hours commitment. This is a great venue to showcase some of what Como Hockey is all about – it will be a fun filled, family day with outside hockey…the way it used to be!

Outdoor Old Time Hockey Rules. Rules for scrimmages are as follows: No score will be kept. Scrimmages will be 45 minutes. 5 minute warm up. Two 20 minute periods. NO game clock. Time will be measured with an egg timer and cow bell for the horn. We will have unofficial referees to call the scrimmages. Off sides, icing, penalties etc….will be enforced. Home team is first on list. Home team will wear white.
CAHA BOARD MEETING The next CAHA Board Meeting will be Tuesday, January 20th at 7pm at Schroeder’s (Front, just east of Dale St.). Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
